Locations is the most important factor when setting up your business they say.
For me it is the most important factor in relation to where I choose to live and enjoy my outdoor sports and also share experiences with my family and friends.
Cascais and the areas around are a perfect playground for outdoor activities. We have a fantastic ocean for surfing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, sailing and many other water based activities. We also have perfect areas and trails for mountain biking, these trails can be from beginner to advanced steep single tracks. We also have stunning scenery for ocean and forest trekking. You can do coastal treks to Cabo do Roca the most western point of mainland Europe or you can find fantastic trekking paths in the Sintra forests with old castles and palaces and fantastic fauna and flora. Cascais itself is a charming fishing town with many good restaurants and fresh fish and shellfish to enjoy.
My base camp is Bar do Guincho where we have Moana Surf School. After surfing you can enjoy fantastic seafood or meat from Argentina. Perfect food and a glass of wine, caipirinha or other drinks whilst enjoying fantastic ocean and coastal views from the terrace whilst watching surfers catch waves.
There are so many things to do in such a small area which means you do not have to spend hours travelling. You can experience so many different activities in one day in this outdoor playground. Its like having a natural adventure centre in my own back garden!
Also we must not forget that a 25 minute drive or 35 minute train ride and you are in Lisbon, where you have culture and city life plus amazing nightlife for those intrested.
